Research Interests: 

Dr. Fleischer's current interest is in the area of Economics. His last position with Royal Dutch Shell was Economics Manager of Shell Chemicals, with accountabilities for the investment decision framework in Shell Chemicals from an economics standpoint. Some of the responsibilities included:

  • Promoting standards and tools and ensuring consistency to proposals and decisions for projects and ventures above $ 10 million of capital expenditures
  • Ensuring consistent application of premises and assumptions
  • Promoting learning and developing competencies in Shell Chemicals
  • Taking full account of relevant learnings and developments in the field of economic thinking and related subjects such as value based management, risk management and capital structuring

Over 35 years as an adjunct professor/lecturer of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department
26 years with Shell in increasingly responsible positions
13 years as CEO and co-owner of Fleischer International Trading, a private enterprise that imported and distributed fine wines in the US
